About Us

My name is Patty and I am the owner, dyer, the everything, at Dyeon Yarns. My love for the Fiber Arts started with knitting over 10 years ago. My first project was a very long scarf, I simply did not know when to stop! I also learned to crochet around the same time and made a ton of potholders and granny squares for a while. After learning how to knit and crochet, I took a yarn dyeing class at a local yarn store and fell in love with it. My first experiments were with food coloring and not self-striping, but that evolved to acid dyes and self-striping yarn in the last couple of years.

 

I grew up in Venezuela and moved to Texas in my early 20’s. I currently live in Austin, TX with my family and two Dachshunds, Berta and Murphy. In the little spare time I have, I love working on new knitting or crochet projects and reading. I work nearly full-time as a Project Manager in the Language Services Industry, but my real full-time job is being a mom to my 7-year-old baseball-loving son, Harvey. He also happens to be Dyeon Yarns’ part-time Business Manager and Creative Director. Some of the colorways have been put together and humbly named by him as well, like “Harvey,” “Harvey’s Halloween Special” and “Murphy.”
